Through this PCIP trip to the childcare centre was a great experience for me.
Some difficuties we faced was the failure to forsee the amount of materials for the experiment as we bought too less materials and had to buy more from the store at the last minute.
Another difficulty we faced was some of the kids was quite rowdy and we were unable to get their attention.
I have no experience handling kids before and this trip have given me the chance to find out how its like to take care of kids.
This trip have also taught me to be more appreciative of my parents instead of taking it for granted as taking care of children isn't easy.

After spending a few hours at the Childcare Federation, i realised how it was like for the kids to have people play with them. To be honest, when i first heard that i was to be going to a childcare centre, i wasn't very thrilled at the idea because i wasn't really interested in kids. And so, i went half-heartedly. However, after the first hour, i was actually enjoying myself. I don't know what changed my opinion. Maybe it's the smiles on the children's faces, their eyes filled with amusement at the experiments we showed them, or just, communicating with them that makes me feel like i'm a little kid, just like them all over again. And then i thought about how i would have felt if i was one of the kids. Sometimes, it doesn't matter that you don't know the person, or it's the first time that you're meeting them. Because all it takes to make your day, is just a little smile. And the thought of you making someone happy, you'll be happy, too. :)

This year's pcip was one of the most enjoyable ones and I could really feel everyone in the class participating in it. Our initial plan was actually just to give tuition, but then, in the end, we all decided to carry out science experiments in our groups for the children to play with. I was very thrilled by the thought of it and looked forward to it for a long time. We didn't really have much time to plan for it properly but luckily, the experiment went well and succeeded for all the attempts. The children were really hyper and excited for the things that they were going to do and it was quite problem trying to relate to them the instructions. At one point of time, we ran out of vinegar and that was one of the most important things for the experiment. Luckily we had a convenience shop next to the childcare and we managed to get more. By the end of the activity, all of us had all made friends with the children there and were reluctant to bid farewell to them. I had enjoyed my time there with the children, being able to learn more about them. I have also learnt that I have to treat them with more care as they are children and are more sensitive to things than teenagers. I have also not only learnt more about the way we have to treat children but my classmates as well. I would definitely want to have more of these activities with the class again.

During this whole trip to the childcare centre,i have gained a whole new experience. Firstly,i managed to meet lots of new people. Not only just the kids, but the teachers there as well. I am the youngest in my family, and have never thought of kids as such smart things. However i have found out that they are indeed really smart, and they have a lot of knowledge on certain things. Also,i have learnt that dealing with kids,we have to be stern, but not too fierce. Being to fierce would scare them, hence making them fear you,not respect you. Being too lenient would result in them being more and more rebellious, which is a nono for kids their age. I strongly believe in the potential of those kids as most of them appear to be extremely talented and smart. They are also very sentimental,as most of them were upset, knowing we are going to leave. I find that extremely appealing because kids usually won't really care whether you go or stay. I thought they would only care about playing and having fun. But in actual fact, they think of us as their friends, seniors, sisters and family. I think. What matched my thinking would be their playfulness. All of them are happy and playful, and they're always cheerful. That is what kids are. They should be carefree and happy, before they start the horrible tortures of being teenagers. I believe that not only did i learn a lot, they did too. They learnt a lot of cool science experiments. And from me,a lot of politeness. :) and good english of course. Therefore i'm ending my reflection here, telling you guys that everyone learnt a lot. Yay i love PCIP.

I enjoyed the PCIP a lot because i had fun playing with the kids and my team-mates. The children were funny and cute, i had a lot fun teaching them the science experiments. I think i have learned a lot of science from the PCIP too :D!!

I also have stronger bonds with my classmates and teammates, i really hope to have a chance to go such places for PCIP again next time.
